We’re very pleased to announce that we’ve received Mayor of London Make London funding for “Imagining Sanctuary in Lewisham”, a week long programme of events around the borough happening this June.

Timed to coincide with Refugee Week, the programme is being held in collaboration with Refugee Cafe, Beckenham Place Mansion, Goldsmith Star and Lewisham Refugee Welcome. Together, we’re planning live performances, markets and workshops – all celebrating the creativity of people with lived experience of forced migration.

We applied for Make London funding earlier this year and were super excited to be one of the selected applications. The funds will be used primarily to commission refugee creatives and/or source the equipment and materials needed for participation.

The crowdfunder is still live on Spacehive – and it’s not too late to contribute! More funding means more creative commissions (we’re entirely volunteer led and minimise any operational costs).
