Refugee Week Programme released

After months of collaboration with local Lewisham and London based organisations, we’re pleased to release details of our Refugee Week programme today.

Carrying on with the theme of ‘Imagining Sanctuary’, the week celebrates both creatives with lived experience of forced migration and Lewisham’s campaign to become a Borough of Sanctuary. Events will be held across the borough and online and each event is free for attendees (but people without lived experience are encouraged to make a donation!).

The week ends with a market at Beckenham Place Mansion on 19 June, with lots of creative goodies to buy, food, live music and a programme of live events including cooking demonstrations and workshops. Tickets for indoor events will be released closer to the date.

Refugee Week is a festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. People take part all over the world. This year, Refugee Week is 14-20 June.

Volunteers

We’re looking for volunteers to help out on the day, especially general stewards to help the event run smoothly and in a covid compliant way. Contact us if you’d like to get involved!
